Core Values
Core value, are values which provide a platform, a foundation on which the rest of our family and ministry can rest upon. They are the underlying structure on which Catch the Fire London is built. We believe that these values are the foundation for everything that we do: that out of a place of knowing who we are, that we are completely loved and accepted by our Father we are able to carry the passionate love and power of God to His lost and broken children. Our family is founded on five core values, four of which have been adopted from Catch the Fire Ministries.
- Father’s love revealed through Jesus Christ
Catch the Fire was born out of, and has been transformed by the revelation that we are no longer orphans, but sons loved by our Father. This revolutionises our identity and consequently transforms the way we live.
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 1 John 4:9
- Intimacy & Hearing God’s voice
Not only are we sons and daughters, but we are free to be intimate with the Trinity. We inherit the ability to hear and know our Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. John 10:3
- Restoration of the heart
As humans, our experiences can often influence the way we live, behave, the way we relate to others and God Himself. As we work through life’s hurts we are able to get closer to God and allow Him to transform our lives.
…Dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. 2 Corinthians 7:1
- Empowering people through the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is living and longing to walk and move with us as we live. Through His involvement in our lives we can walk in the love and the authority that we were created to carry.
…He gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. Luke 9:1-2
- Fun
Our final core value is fun! We believe that fellowship and time together is a vital part of being a family.
You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy. Psalms 45:7
Statement of Faith
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19
We believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ the Son, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His death for us on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the Father and His personal, physical return to rule the earth in power and love.
The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. John 1:14-18 & 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
We believe that all mankind are lost in sin and need to turn from it and trust personally in the Saviour, Jesus Christ, all need to be born a new by the Holy Spirit’s power into God’s family.
Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. John 3:5-7 & Ephesians 2:1-10
We believe that the Holy Spirit lives in us as believers and brings love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility and self-control into our lives. He works in and through us with His charismatic gifts.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23 & 1 Corinthians 12:7-11
We believe in the resurrection of every person; to eternal life for the believer and eternal judgement for the lost.
Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. Matthew 25:31-46
We believe in unity for all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and seek community together. We want to become more like Him in every way, who is head of His body, the Church. We are called to love Him and one another and are enabled to do this only His life flows through us.
Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all it’s many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:12-13 & Matthew 22:37-40
